Testimonials

I attended the 12 week Innosuisse Start-up Training Business Concept Module 2 course. As an academic scientist, I hadn’t really had much exposure to the start-up world before. This course was the perfect introduction to learn key business skills and to meet with role models who have had a successful career in this area. I thought the sessions were well run and engaging, and the invited guest speakers were very helpful and always happy to answer questions. This course was a great way to connect with other like-minded individuals and got us all thinking about the best ways to spin-out and commercialise our ideas and projects. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in learning innovation and entrepreneurship skills that would be helpful in a start-up setting.

Danny Ward

Postdoctoral Research Scientist (Winner of the Final Team Pitches)

I am so grateful to the Innovation Office Basel for organising and giving me the chance to participate in this year’s Innosuisse training module 2. It was an amazing experience through which I learned so many things about the start-up world and business concept while making new connections. I highly recommend this course for anyone who would like to develop an entrepreneurial mindset or bring their start-up idea one (or better more) steps forward.

Konstantina Nikolakopoulou

PhD researcher in endometrial stem cell biology (Runner Up of the Final Team Pitches)

Innosuisse Start-up Training was an incredible experience that provided me with the opportunity to understand how life sciences intersect with the entrepreneurial world. Working on a medical device start-up inspired me to see beyond the academic aspects of the idea and dive into the various business dimensions. The most important lesson I learned is that no matter if it is an implant or complex software, every part of the product is about the feelings and emotions it brings to the customer. This training gave me the feeling of support and security in my abilities to positively impact the world.

Darya Voyush

MSc Biomedical Engineering (Runner Up of the Final Team Pitches)

Participating in the Innosuisse Module 2 Business Concept training organized by the Innovation Office of the University of Basel has been an incredibly rewarding experience. This course provided me with unique insights and practical knowledge about startups and the entrepreneurial landscape.

The comprehensive curriculum covered essential aspects of business development, from ideation and market analysis to financial planning and pitching. The expert instructors brought real-world experience and a deep understanding of the startup ecosystem, which significantly enhanced my learning.

What stood out the most was the hands-on approach. The interactive workshops, case studies, and networking opportunities with fellow aspiring entrepreneurs created a dynamic learning environment. I not only gained theoretical knowledge but also practical skills that I can directly apply to my startup journey.

I highly recommend the Entrepreneurship training to anyone looking to turn their innovative ideas into successful ventures. It has equipped me with the tools and confidence needed to navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship.

Thank you, Innovation Office, for this transformative experience!

The course offers practical expertise, allowing participants to apply theoretical concepts in real-world scenarios. This hands-on approach ensures a deeper understanding of the material and prepares individuals for the challenges of entrepreneurship. Participants learn how to think strategically and take decisive actions, essential qualities for entrepreneurs. The course likely emphasizes the development of a strategic mindset to navigate the complexities of starting and growing a business.

The Entrepreneurship training is a comprehensive package vital for aspiring entrepreneurs. It provides theoretical and practical skills while encouraging real-world application, even for those without a specific business idea. Crucially, it fosters networking within the startup community and serves as a catalyst for a profound mindset shift, encouraging participants to embrace challenges and be more ambitious in their entrepreneurial endeavors.

I strongly recommend the Innosuisse Start-up Training, both to people already involved in the area, and with some ideas, and to people who would just like to join the entrepreneurship field. In this course fundamental topics in business and entrepreneurship are covered by coaches with an extensive experience in the field, and willing to help and share all their knowledge. Moreover, this course brings together people with different backgrounds but with common interest in entrepreneurship, allowing you to increase your social network.
