About the event

The Innovation Office invites leading experts from the Bay Area to Basel to share their entrepreneurial experience and scientific expertise to support your startup journey.

Join us for a life science innovation workshop, featuring our visiting experts from the Bay Area, Matt Goldman (Venture Capitalist & Pediatric Gastroenterologist) and Anita Mathias (Clinical Development Executive).

During this interactive session, our speakers will outline the key stages of preclinical development, including laboratory and animal studies used to establish safety and efficacy, and explain the regulatory steps required to transition from early research to human clinical trials. They will also discuss how to think strategically from the outset, including when to start a company and what is needed to build one—covering scientific validation, market analysis, and assembling the right team for your stage and goals.

Bring your questions, share your ideas, and engage in meaningful discussions about your project or research during an interactive fireside chat.
